Public Policy

The University cannot function without grad workers - we know the value of our labor and we come to the bargaining table prepared to secure big wins and ensure the stability of our union for generations to come.

Jawuanna McAllister

Molecular Biology and Genetics

I’m excited to fight for a robust first contract that protects the rights and freedoms of all graduate workers, especially marginalized grads who are often subjected to discrimination and harassment in their workplaces. Our struggles are connected!

Hsin-Yun (Rachel) Chang

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is meaningful change! I am grateful to be part of the BC, where we work tirelessly to empower all graduate workers and drive change to enhance our experience at Cornell!

Tamara Walsky

Food Science

I am excited to help implement a more democratic working environment that better addresses the needs of all grads

Maggie Foster

Communication

I believe strongly in community empowerment! Our legacy isn't just a strong first contract, but also our community culture on campus.

Kara Zielinski

Biophysics

Being on the BC gives me the opportunity to advocate on behalf of my peers and to fight for protections and policies that will improve the everyday life of grads at Cornell.

Region 2

Constituency: College of Arts & Sciences (Natural sciences and mathematics, i.e., Applied Mathematics, Astronomy, Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, Microbiology, Mathematics, Neurobiology and Behavior, Physics)

We've been organizing to win ambitious protections and benefits for years -- we deserve a contract that enshrines them.

Ben Keller

I'm excited to be on the BC to ensure that our members continue to drive our fight to establish necessary protections and new benefits for all grad workers at Cornell, across all campuses!

Emmy Marra

I'm excited about being on the BC because I can be part of a team that makes a contract which will positively impact the lives of so many grads I know.

Takshil Sachdev

I ran to be on the bargaining committee because it was a priority for me to fight for a strong first contract that protects international graduate workers at Cornell. I’m excited to work alongside incredible to bring that vision to reality!

Region 4

Constituency: College of Engineering (including Earth and Atmospheric Sciences), College of Computing and Information Science

Connor Davis

Applied Physics

I’m excited to meet Cornell at the table and get what my community has demanded, and been denied, for years!

Katrina Davis

Electrical & Computer Engineering

Grad workers came to this university to work on our passion projects and answer some of the most pressing questions of our time. I'm excited to bargain for a union contract that supports our extremely talented workers in these passion projects by enshrining our academic freedom and rights as professionals!

Arnav Gupta

Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Graduate workers are asserting their collective power to determine their working conditions. As an international student, I am tired of job insecurity, and overwork. I want graduate workers get proper wages & healthcare, work freely with dignity & respect without fearing unjust discipline.

Evan Heberlein

Civil & Environmental Engineering

I am excited about representing the challenges faced by STEM grads at Cornell and advocating for the improved professional standards that we deserve!

Marguerite Pacheco

Biomedical Engineering

While I worked to address changes made to our mental health care, I watched Deans try to help grads by backchanneling other university admin, and I saw how their methods are wildly less effectual at materially helping grads than raising grad political consciousness and flexing collective worker's rights. So here we are, let's get shmoving.

Rosamond Thalken

Information Science

As a member of the bargaining committee, I am excited to negotiate a contract that protects workers across Cornell's campuses!

Region 5

Constituency: Cornell Tech

Amritansh Kwatra

I ran to be part of our bargaining committee to fight for strong graduate worker protections and fair compensation across all our campuses.
